Our work

We regularly run fund raising events and activities for the school. In 2014/15 we raised £1,846.15 for the school. This money was spent on supplying pupils with chalk boards and chalk; a Christmas event where every child in KS1 received a reading book as a gift; autograph books for the year 6 leavers to capture memories of their time at Cobblers Lane Primary School. These in turn supported their education by helping to improve their literacy skills, one of the key areas in the schools development plan.

This year all the proceeds from our activities and events shall go towards the cost of developing a new learning environment on the main school playground. We are aiming to raise £5,000 by Easter 2016. We shall keep you updated on our progress and look forward to your support throughout the year.

Events for the students range from movie nights to school discos.  Our adult focussed activities include flower arranging demonstrations and bake sales. We are always looking for new ideas, so if you have a suggestion for a fundraising activity please contact us

Details of all upcoming events can be found on the school Calendar

How you can help

You can help out in many ways. We are always looking for people to help run the large events, so if you have a spare couple of hours maybe once per term, it would be great if you could volunteer to help out.

Often we turn to you to bring in items, such as cakes or bric a brac, or to run a stall at one of our fairs.

We really would like to increase our Friends membership. We meet once every half term for about 1 hour, and try to run at least 1 event each half term. If you become a Friend you would not have to make every meeting or event, yet when you can come your input will be greatly valued.

To apply to become a Friend, or to volunteer, or even to offer some fundraising suggestions please do contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you from your Friends

None of our events can happen without your kind donations of items or time. We truly appreciate your support and thank everyone who has been involved over the last year.  We do hope to encourage even more of you to be involved throughout this year.
